Brenham Woman Killed In Highway 21 Crash Near The RELLIS Campus

A crash Thursday during the noon hour on the west side of Bryan at Highway 21 at the Highway 47 overpass killed the driver of a SUV and sent the driver of a semi to the hospital with unknown injuries.

DPS Sgt. Jimmy Morgan says both vehicles were headed east, when the SUV made a left turn from the shoulder into the path of the semi that was in the lane next to the median.

The driver of the SUV was identified as 75 year old Rhoena Hopkins of Brenham.

Eastbound traffic on 21 was diverted to southbound 47 for almost five hours as troopers conducted their investigation.
