Brenham Man Arrested For Capital Murder of Blinn-Brenham Student

BRENHAM, Texas (AP) _ A Central Texas man has been charged in the 2014 fatal shooting of a Blinn College freshman whose body was found on a road in Brenham.

Washington County jail records show 18-year-old Michael Charles Dixon Junior of Brenham was being held Friday on a capital murder charge.

Jail records don’t list an attorney to speak for Dixon, who was arrested Thursday night and bond set at $1 million.

Brenham police on Oct. 30, 2014, responded to a 911 call about a body on a street. The victim was Trey Kurtz of Houston.

Police spokeswoman Angela Hahn on Friday did not release a possible motive in the slaying. She had no information on whether the suspect and Kurtz knew each other.

Brenham is about 70 miles northwest of Houston.
