Brazos Valley EDC and Texas A&M’s Private Enterprise Research Center Debut A Monthly Local Economic Report

The Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation (BVEDC) and Texas A&M’s Private Enterprise Research Center (PERC) have debuted a monthly local economic report.

BVEDC president/CEO Matt Prochaska says the nine month project followed local requests from the public and their private partners about the need for local information on a timely basis.

The center’s Executive Associate Director, Dr. Andy Rettenmaier, says the “College Station-Bryan Business Cycle Index” is in addition to the national issues that the center has been addressing since 1977.

The EDC says the index is patterned after what is done by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas for the major Texas metro areas.

The report, which will be released on the fourth Monday of each month on the BVEDC and PERC websites, will also include additional statistics on the local economy such as labor market indicators, retail indicators, housing indicators and government finance issues.
