The Brazos Transit District (BTD) remains quiet about unidentified problems at its parking garage in downtown Bryan.
The transit district tells WTAW News there are still legal issues regarding the parking garage.
While fences were put in place and parking spaces were blocked more than one year ago…all that is gone.
And the district says the structural integrity of the building has always been intact.
But what’s preventing the release of a structural engineer’s report on the garage has not been revealed.
The district says they will not consider WTAW News request to see the report until unidentified legal matters are closed and remedied.
In April 2018, WTAW News reported cosmetic repairs were scheduled to start the following month on the north side of the building.
That’s after BTD officials noticed some movement of the block walls on the perimeter of the north side of the building.
It was at that time the decision was made to hire an engineer to check out the rest of the building, according to the district’s lawyer, “out of an abundance of caution.”
The parking garage and adjoining bus terminal opened seven years ago.
