A Brazos County voter appeared at Tuesday’s county commission meeting to thank those who helped her vote during a medical emergency.

Janelle Crenshaw said she went to the Brazos County administration building on the first day of early voting and stood in line until she felt light headed and went home.

Crenshaw returned the next day and waited in line again. After she handed an election worker her driver’s license, she sat down and passed out.

When she woke up, she noticed the room had been cleared and she was escorted to an ambulance. After she was given an IV, Crenshaw persuaded the EMT’s to allow her to vote.

Election workers brought out an electronic pad where Crenshaw told commissioners “probably everybody in there knows who I voted for but I didn’t care.”

Commissioners thanked Crenshaw for sharing her story and for her persistence to vote.
