Brazos County Sheriff’s Office Seeking Public Assistance Catching Burglars

From the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office:

The Sheriff’s Office has recently experienced a rise in reports of burglaries. During this time each year we tend to see increases in home burglaries, as more houses are unoccupied during daytime hours.

A current strategy for these thieves is to knock on the doors of a residence to check if anyone is home. If someone does answer the door the subject may ask for directions, or say they are looking for a certain person. If this happens to you, please lock the door and gather as much information on the subject and call your local Police Department or Sheriff’s Office to report the incident.

The Sheriff’s Office has also seen an increase in vehicle burglaries. In most cases the vehicles that were burglarized were unlocked. We ask that you take all valuable items out of your vehicle and always lock it. If possible park your vehicle in a lighted area.

Help us by being the eyes and ears of your Sheriff’s Office.

If you see suspicious activity, contact 9-1-1 and report your concerns.
