The Brazos County sheriff’s office is investigating a theft of a large amount of money from a truck parked in the parking lot of the Brazos County tax office.

Chief Deputy Jim Stewart says it’s believed the suspects followed the victim from a bank to the tax office. Once the victim went inside, the suspects shattered the passenger window of the truck and stole the money.

Stewart says the crime occurred Tuesday at 12:45 p.m. and was caught on the tax office’s video surveillance system.

Anyone who was at the Tax Office Tuesday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and might have noticed anything unusual, is requested to call the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office at 979-361-4980 or Brazos County Crime Stoppers at 979-775-TIPS.

Stewart says it’s believed the suspects are also responsible for a similar incident in Huntsville.
