Brazos County Joins Statewide Anti-Human Trafficking Campaign

The Brazos County District Attorney’s Office joins forces with Texas First Lady Cecilia Abbott, Outdoor Advertising Association of Texas, and A21, a global organization, to launch the anti-human trafficking awareness campaign, “Can You See Me?”

The University of Texas estimates 313,000 human trafficking victims are in Texas.

The statewide multi-media campaign, “Can You See Me?”, is designed to equip the public to recognize indicators of human trafficking and report suspicious behavior.

The campaign, which will run through October 2020, is a series of billboards that depict scenarios of the most common forms of human trafficking.

It is anticipated to reach tens of millions of commuters across more than 70 Texas markets.

The following speakers are included in the recording of Thursday’s news conference:

Nancy Fahrenwald, Dean of Nursing, Texas A&M University
Janet Kasper, East Texas Regional Administrator, Governor Greg Abbott’s Office
Rebecca Cary, Hands of Justice
Jarvis Parsons, Brazos County District Attorney
Chris Kirk, Brazos County Sheriff
Scott McCollum, College Station Police Chief
Bentley Nettles, TABC Executive Director
John Raney, State Representative
Kyle Kacal, State Representative
Bonnie Thiessen, A21
Curtis Cogburn, OUTFRONT Media
