Brazos County Health District Asks, But Is Probably Not Getting Additional Money From The Bryan And College Station City Councils

The Brazos County health district has asked, but is probably not getting an additional $190,000 dollars next year from the cities of Bryan and College Station.

The district’s environmental health manager Bob Lamkin told the Bryan city council that an additional $40,000 dollars from each city and the county represents a ten percent increase in operating funds to rebuild a required reserve.

And an additional $150,000 dollars from each city and the county would go towards replacing the original roof at the health district office in downtown Bryan.

Bryan city manager Kean Register says he and College Station manager Bryan Woods are recommending much less no money for the roof and about $12,000 more in operating funds.

The health district received $395,000 dollars this year from each of the cities and the county. The district wanted next year’s contribution to be $584,000 from each city.
