The Brazos County Health Department is observing National Public Health Week this week with these service specials:
Free Food Handler classes for the first 50 people to sign-up.
$5 private water well testing April 6th-9th.
$10 sexually transmitted infections testing Monday, April 6th from 1-2:30 p.m.
Those who attend the Water Testing 101 Class Tuesday April 7th at 1:30 p.m. will get a free water test.
Free syphilis and rapid HIV testing Thursday, April 9th from 8:30 – 11 a.m.

Also from the health department, the flu season has completed its sixth month. During the week ending March 28 there were 19 cases. That’s about twice the number from the same period last year. There have been nearly 2,900 flu patients the last six months, compared to more than 1,500 last year.
