Brazos County District Court Plea Agreements For Family Violence Assault And Burglary Cases Results In Prison Sentences

A Hearne man is off to prison for at least six months after admitting he struck his girlfriend in front of her six year old daughter a year ago. 26 year old Kenzavion Johnson and the Brazos County district attorney’s office reached a plea agreement where he was convicted of family violence assault. According to the arrest report from Bryan police, the victim said during an argument, Johnson threw her down and held her neck with one hand as he was hitting her in the face with his other hand. Johnson was ordered to serve six months of a ten year prison term. He is scheduled to appear before a judge in July to be considered for probation.

In April of 2016, Bryan police arrested one of four men accused of breaking into a convenience store. Last week, 39 year old Keith Tillis of Houston pleaded guilty to his part in the burglary of the Ready 2 Go store on South College. He was sentenced to three years in prison, which according to online court records will be his third trip into the state system. According to the district attorney’s office, none of the other suspects have been caught.
