A couple who moved to College Station from California last year were caught stealing and forging blank checks and taking a $400 dollar gift card…all from employees at Texas A&M. One is going to prison and the other has received probation. Last month, 38 year old Lynn Jackson entered a plea agreement to stealing the checks and gift card from three former co-workers while working as a custodian at the emerging technologies building. She was released from jail and placed on five years probation. Last week, a jury convicted 42 year old Timothy Carter of forging two checks, each for $300 dollars, and cashing them at local banks. Monday, Brazos County District Judge J.D. Langley sentenced Carter to ten years in prison. The District Attorney’s office says it’s Carter’s fourth trip to prison. Carter had previously served three different stints in California prisons for theft related felony offenses in 1992, 1997, and 2009.
