According to the CSPD arrest report, several officers responded to a 9-1-1 medical emergency at the family’s apartment. The mother told officers she awoke to find one of her four children needed medical attention for an undisclosed reason.
The mother also told officers she leaves her children unattended for up to six hours at a time while she is at work.
The arresting officer noted he smelled rotting food and trash and saw several soiled diapers and multiple baby bottles that appeared to contain curdled formula.
The oldest of the children told the officer when his mother worked, there was no cell phone and he would attempt to wake up a neighbor if they needed help.
