A lighter moment at the March 5th meeting of the Brazos County commissioners court involved the return of precinct two commissioner Sammy Catalena, who had been away the last two months following surgery.
Catalena broke into county judge Duane Peters routine that begins weekly meetings to thanking the judge and other county employees, along with those who sent cards and letters, paid a visit, and have prayed for him.
The week before, Catalena was on the phone listening to the weekly meeting. Unlike other governmental bodies, Texas law does not allow county commissioners to cast votes unless they are present in the meeting room.
