Brazos County commissioners award a $704,000 dollar contract designed to improve drainage between the extension office and the tax office.
The county’s purchasing agent, Charles Wendt, tells WTAW News that significant rainfall has also caused problems in the front of the extension office.
Wendt says the project includes demolishing sidewalks, concrete paving, and raised planter beds.
The slope of the land will be adjusted and underground pipes will be installed before replacing the concrete.
A larger canopy will also be installed at the front entrance of the tax office.
The project is supposed to take 90 days to complete, weather permitting.
Commissioners had no comments prior to their unanimous vote at their July 23rd meeting.
