The Brazos County commission has joined the Bryan city council in reaching a second economic development incentives with a local manufacturer.
The west Bryan chemicals company Lubrizol will be reimbursed property taxes paid on improvements over an eight year period that starts at 100 percent and ends at ten percent.
The reimbursements are based on Lubrizol investing at least $25 million dollars in its expansion and adding at least 24 full time positions with a total annual payroll of at least $1.1 million dollars.
County judge Duane Peters says the agreement mirrors what the city council did last November.
Peters thanked the Research Valley Partnership for their work, and added this will help with recruiting other prospects.
Lubrizol, which is one of Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway companies and is located in the Brazos County Industrial Park off Harvey Mitchell Parkway, will also get up to $75,000 dollars from the city in reimbursements for development fees.
