Brazos County Burn Ban Is Lifted

A burn ban affecting Brazos County residents living outside city limits since September 24th has ended.

County judge Duane Peters signed the order Thursday (December 5) after consulting with the county emergency management office and the county’s rural fire chiefs.

The order says all are in agreement that drought conditions have improved significantly following this week’s rainfall, along with the expectation of more rain over the next several days.

Rainfall at Easterwood Airport, the official “rain gauge” for the National Weather Service, measured .65 of one inch on Wednesday (December 4).
