A woman from Kerrville is in the Brazos County jail on charges of breaking into seven work trucks that were parked in Wixon Valley and attempted to steal up to $20,000 dollars in copper wiring. A Brazos County sheriff’s deputy writes in his arrest report that multiple shoe prints next to a stack of tools and spools of copper that were removed from the trucks, matched the shoes of the 42 year old woman who denied burglarizing the vehicles. The woman told the deputy she had parked in the lot because she got tired while driving from Montgomery County to Kerrville. La Dawn Dressen, who was arrested Tuesday night (October 7), remains jailed as of October 9 in lieu of bonds totaling $41,000 dollars.
A Madisonville man was arrested last Saturday night (October 4) for causing a hit and run crash in Bryan while driving under the influence. The BPD arrest report says 43 year old Steve Avendano has two prior DWI convictions in Brazos County. No injuries were reported in the collision at Villa Maria and Carter Creek. A witness followed Avendano to the parking lot of a convenience store along the freeway. Avendano was also charged with resisting arrest. And the arrest report says it took two officers to hold him while blood was being drawn at the hospital. Avendano is out of jail after posting bonds totaling $19,000 dollars.
