The Brazos Central Appraisal District (BCAD) has received unanimous support to buy land and construct its own offices next to the county’s new tax office.

During this month’s College Station school board’s workshop, BCAD board member John Flynn was asked if this will meet the agency’s space needs for the next 10 to 20 years. Flynn says they are purchasing more land at that location, the building will have more storage, and if they outgrow that location that building will be sold to finance the move to a larger site.
After the CSISD board previously had reservations about the project, president Valerie Jochen was one of two members who thanked the appraisal district.
The CSISD board’s unanimous support for the $3.2 million dollar project was followed by similar action by the Bryan city council last Monday. There were no comments from the Bryan council before approving the request as part of its consent agenda.
BCAD previously received support from the Brazos County Commission, the Bryan school board, and the College Station city council.
