The Bryan Fire Department will host a marrow drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, July 24, at 300 William Joel Bryan Parkway.
To contribute to the national marrow registry, a donor must be between the ages of 18 and 60, meet health and weight requirements, complete a registration form and consent to a swab of cheek cells so tissue type can be identified. A sample of bone marrow is not required.
It is estimated that a marrow or blood cell transplant could annually benefit more than 10,000 children and adults with life-threatening disease. The
