Bombers Fall to Acadiana Cane Cutters

Bryan-College Station, TX (August 1, 2013) –

Although the Bombers started the game out hot, their lead slipped away in the fifth inning.

The Bombers got on the board early with a run by Cody Lovejoy in the first inning. The Acadiana Cane Cutters had two runs in the bottom of the second. However, the Bombers were on fire in the third inning. Andy Smith stole third and made it to home plate. Cody Lovejoy scored off of a wild pitched, followed a run from Hunter Hagler. Hunter Melton hit a home run to end the rally followed by only one run from by the Cane Cutters in the bottom of the third.

The Bombers were quiet for the remainder of the game. The Cane Cutters managed four runs in the fifth inning and two more in the seventh. Despite the amazing third inning, the Bombers were defeated 9-5.
Ford Moore started off on the mound for the Bombers, and was relieved by Rex Hill in the sixth inning who had four strikeouts. Caleb Hawkins closed out the game with no hits.
