Summertime collegiate baseball in Bryan will continue for another decade. Deputy City Manager Joey Dunn said a ten-year contract extension with the owners of the Brazos Valley Bombers was approved at this week’s city council meeting.
The city agrees to pay up to $25,000 a season in utility costs and the Bombers will provide an equal amount of marketing, tourism, and promotional services. That’s up from $7,500 dollars annually each of the last three seasons.
City funding comes from the parks and recreation and hotel-motel accounts.
