With the Bombers resting their pitchers for the playoffs, the Cane Cutters took advantage of what they faced. The Cane Cutters jumped out early in the 2nd inning by taking the lead 1-0 off a fielder’s choice. The Bombers quickly bounced back though by getting a run across on a Horacio Correa III error and a Cody Lovejoy hit that was also scored an error. The Bombers led 2-1 until the 6th inning where the Cane Cutters took the lead off a two run single. The Cane Cutters extended their lead again after Mitchell Nau hit an RBI double to right field making the score 4-2.
Not going down easy were the Bombers, as they were able to get a run back early in the 8th inning by Hunter Hagler’s RBI single to left field. They weren’t done there though, as Ford Moore gave the Bombers the lead again with a two RBI single that just sneaked past the infield giving them a 5-4 lead. After a back and forth game, the Bombers were able to hold on to the win. Rex Hill started the game for the Bombers giving up one run and striking out three in four innings pitched. Ford Moore made his first appearance with two innings worth of work and giving up two runs. Hunter Melton and Nick Johnson each pitched an inning, with Melton giving up the final run of the game. Nick Johnson got the win for the Bombers and Jason Gareri got the save by shutting the Cane Cutters down in the 9th.
