HOUSTON (AP) _ Searchers have found the body believed to that of a 4-year-old girl who drowned along with four other children after a car wreck sent them into a rain-swollen ditch in Houston.
The body was found early Tuesday afternoon along Greens Bayou. The body has not been formally identified, but police said it appeared to be Hallie Jenkins. The other bodies have been recovered.
Her father, Chanton B. Jenkins, was charged Sunday with four counts of intoxication manslaughter. Jenkins was talking on his cell phone when he lost control of his car. None of the children was wearing seat belts.
Jenkins, another adult passenger and a 10-year-old child survived.
