Body Recovered From Lake Bryan Confirmed To Be A Missing Bryan Man

Monday afternoon update from Bryan police:

The identity of the deceased has been confirmed as Jose Luis Lara of Bryan.

The cause of death is still under investigation until the final autopsy report is complete.

Sunday evening update from Bryan police:

A body, believed to be that of Mr. Lara, was recovered at approximately 6:00 p.m.

The body will be sent for autopsy to confirm the cause of death and identity.

News release from Bryan police:

On August 8, 2015 at approximately 6:45 p.m. officers responded to the Bryan Lake for a missing adult.

A 44 year old Bryan man was last seen in the lake.

Texas Parks and Wildlife, Bryan Fire Department, and College Station Police Department along with Search and Rescue teams searched for hours last night and resumed at first light this morning.

At this time it is being treated as a drowning.

The boat ramps are closed and the immediate area where the search is taking place is closed. Other areas of the lake are still open.

The missing person has been identified as 44 year old Jose Luis Lara.
