Bryan High School head football coach Bob Bellard submitted his resignation from the Bryan ISD Wednesday, effective at the end of the school year.
Bellard confirmed to KZNE Radio’s Chip Howard that he was asked to step down from his job.
Bellard, who was hired in 2006 and just completed his sixth season as head football coach for the Vikings, had an overall record of 32-31 and 20-20 in district play.
Superintendent Tommy Wallis says applications will be accepted through roughly January 9th.
Dr. Wallis says a committee of district employees will review applications and will give him 3 to 4 candidates for further consideration.
The earliest Wallis expects to recommend a finalist to the board of trustees is the January 23rd meeting.
