Blinn College trustees at its August regular meeting accepted the recommendations of administrators and an outside consultant regarding cybersecurity.
Trustees accepted what the agenda described was “the Texas Cybersecurity Framework Cyber Maturity Assessment Related to the Districtwide Risk Assessment Effort”.
The agenda said this continues what Blinn’s outside consultant has found, “which identified areas of risk within the College.” What was not disclosed in public, were the risk areas that were identified.
Blinn’s dean of academic technology services Michael Welch said this was discussed at length during a trustees committee meeting on August 13th.
Blinn is required by state law to do a cybersecurity review every two years.
