Blinn College Increases Pay, Hires Provost

Increased salaries and more teaching positions were approved at this week’s monthly meeting of the Blinn College Board of Trustees.

Trustees authorized 12 new positions and adopted next year’s pay schedule. In addition to a three percent raise, the board gave fulltime faculty what it plans to be the last year of longevity pay, which will be $400. As a transition to a new pay schedule a year from now, trustees gave faculty an additional $600 as a one-time stipend. The new pay schedule will be based on years of service and academic credentials.

Trustees approved the hiring of a chief executive overseeing Blinn’s programs in Brazos County. Dr. Ted Raspiller, who was Blinn’s Dean of Technical and Workforce Education from 1999-2003, will return in September as Brazos County Provost.
