Big Turnout at Firemen’s Crawfish Boil Fundraiser

As the picture below shows, there was a tremendous turnout Wednesday night at a crawfish boil fundraiser benefitting the families of those killed and burned in the Bryan Knights of Columbus Hall fire.

Organizers say crawfish sales alone raised an estimated $46,676 to benefit injured firefighters Ricky Mantey and Mitch Moran and the families of Lt. Greg Pickard and Lt. Eric Wallace.

With the silent auction and t-shirt sales, the total is expected to reach between $50,000 and $60,000.

Shipwreck Grill, The Crawfish Hole, John Gause Plumbing, members of the Bryan Police Officers Association, and members of Bryan Fire Protection Company One teamed up for the event, where 2,500 pounds of crawfish was boiled and t-shirts were sold.

Also assisting were Cajutex Foods, House of Tires, SWICO Auctions, KBTX, and Bryan Broadcasting.

“We are very blessed to live in an area as generous and rich in community as Bryan/College Station,” said Wade Beckman, owner of Shipwreck Grill.

“It was an awesome event for a great cause and truly inspirational seeing the outpouring of support for our local Heroes,” said Chad Hanks, Bryan PD Officer, organizer and owner of The Crawfish Hole.
