City officials in Hearne report a growing list of locations with bee problems.
City manager John Naron says a man on a riding lawn mower was attacked by a swarm on Monday and wound up hospitalized in intensive care. A second man trying to treat the bees and a woman living at the home were also stung.
Naron thanked residents for going online to report five more beehive locations on Tuesday.
Naron said barricades were removed from the first home on Tuesday.
Since then, residents reported beehives at five other locations, mostly in abandoned homes.
Naron says a bee keeper will be working over the next week or so.
And residents have been asked to report any additional locations to the city’s Facebook page and city website.
