Representatives of all four hospitals in Bryan/College Station were part of a community health update hosted Wednesday by the Chamber of Commerce.
One of the common themes stressed to businessowners was the importance of stressing to employees preventative health measures, including employees and their families receiving immunizations and vaccinations and telling employees to stay home when they’re sick.
Beverly Welch at St. Joseph Regional Health Center says they’ve treated patients this year with measles, the mumps, and tetanus….which can be avoided by immunizations.
The emergency management director of the Brazos County health department, Mike Paulus, urged businessowners to develop emergency operations plans to address mass absences due to illness or when employees stay home for concern of getting sick.
Speakers and contributors to the update also included representatives of Baylor/Scott & White Health Care, College Station Medical Center, The Physicians Centre Hospital, Central Texas Sports Medicine, and the Texas A&M Health Science Center.
