MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) _ Second-seeded Maria Sharapova (shah-rah-POH’-vah)
faces a difficult third-round test at the Australian Open after winning her
second straight match in Melbourne without dropping a game. The four-time Grand
Slam title winner will face seven-time Grand Slam titleholder and 25th seed
Venus Williams, who advanced with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Alize Cornet (uh-LEEZ’
kohr-NAY’).
 
Men’s No. 1 Novak Djokovic (NOH’-vak JOH’-kuh-vich)
raced past 20-year-old American Ryan Harrison 6-1, 6-2, 6-3 in today’s
second-round play at the Australian Open. The Serb is a three-time defending
champion at the year’s first major.
