The Houston Astros jumped out to an early lead, but couldn’t hold on, as they fell to the LA Angels Monday night, 5-4.
The ‘Stros came close to tying it up in the 9th, but Yuli Gurriel was thrown out trying to advance to third.
With the loss, Houston falls to 18-17.
They’ll look to get back on the winning track Tuesday night when they host the Halos again at 7:10. Broadcast will be on Zone 1150 AM & 93.7 FM.
Brazos County property owners will not be able to conduct business at the tax office on Wednesday, May 8. Tax assessor-collector Kristy Roe says they are making a change in computer software which will not allow them to access any property tax records. Property owners requiring assistance have to contact the tax office Tuesday (May 7) or Thursday (May 9). This does not affect motor vehicle services, only property tax records. A delegation from the Bryan/College Station chamber of commerce is in Washington D.C. for its annual meeting with federal lawmakers. The chamber’s community liaison, Royce Hickman, says 36 community leaders began their visit Monday (May 6) with a briefing from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. On Tuesday (May 7), the delegation is in a meeting room where congressional leaders are providing updates. On Wednesday (May 8), the group will be going to the offices of Texas members of the U.S. House and Senate to share the local chamber’s legislative priorities.
