A Bryan man denies setting fire to his ex-girlfriend’s apartment.

The arrest report for 24 year old Labrison Young states he told investigators “I didn’t burn that apartment, because if I’d burned it, I’d have burned it with her in it.”

The victim told investigators Young called her saying “she would have a rude awakening when she got home.”

The August 20th fire, on Verde Drive in west Bryan (off FM 2818 between Villa Maria and Turkey Creek Road), started in the back bedroom and spread through the rest of the apartment.

He’s accused of setting fire at two locations as well as turning on the stove and turning on all water faucets.

Young was in jail on bonds totaling $68,000 dollars.
