Arrington Road Widening Project Still Years From Starting

Last year, Brazos County commissioners approved widening Arrington Road south of William D. Fitch.

An update on the project was presented this week by county officials during a neighborhood meeting at Forest Ridge elementary school.

Commissioner Steve Aldrich, who represents the area, says construction won’t start until heavy truck traffic finishes going in and out of new residential subdivisions.

Aldrich says the design phase is 30 percent complete, and he expects that to be finished sometime this year.

Regarding two other county road projects south of College Station, Aldrich says an extension of Cherokee is almost done from the freeway to where the developer takes over construction.

And he expects an extension of Mesa Verde from Indian Lakes to Highway 6 to be completed next month.
