Arrests On Charges Of Hit And Run Involving A Pedestrian & Stealing A Pickup And 15 Guns

A month after a pedestrian was struck at George Bush and Wellborn and the driver left the scene, there has been an arrest. The driver of a Texas A&M van, 35 year old Brennan Marshall of Hearne, is out of jail after he was booked Monday then posted a $10,000 dollar bond. According to the College Station police arrest report, Marshall said the March 28th incident was the second time he failed to report an accident as required by university policy. The victim told 9-1-1 dispatchers his leg was struck but it was not bleeding. Marshall said he drove away after the victim told him he was OK. The victim told police the only thing he said to Marshall was to get off his phone. The driver was identified by video from traffic cameras and a dash camera. The arrest report also noted Marshall backed his van into a pole, but he did not report it until someone else called it in and a supervisor noticed the damage.

A College Station man released from prison after serving a three year sentence for felony theft is now accused of stealing a pickup truck that had the keys inside the vehicle…then going into the victim’s home and taking a variety of items. Between the truck and the home, 22 year old Howard Manley III is also accused of stealing 15 guns, ammunition, and ammo magazines. According to the arrest report, the victim said he had hired Manley to help him move items and he knew there was only one key to the truck. The key was discovered at the Brazos County jail. That’s after Manley was arrested last week following citizen reports he was pointing a gun at traffic in the area of Holleman and Anderson. Investigators also reviewed phone calls Manley made from jail, which led to recovering nine pistols, five rifles, and a semi-automatic rifle. The list of stolen items also included a safe containing ammo, silver collectibles, and 15 polo shirts. Manley is being held in lieu of bonds totaling $110,000 dollars. According to online records, this is the tenth time he has been in the Brazos County jail in five years.
