Bryan police responding to a pair of disturbances early Wednesday morning ended with the arrest a Navasota man on charges that included drunk driving with five prior convictions. According to the arrest report, 59 year old Mickey Chambers agreed to be driven home by a designated driver from the McDonald’s on Highway 21. Just over one hour later, police were sent to the Family Dollar store on Coulter near Texas. Officers learned the driver of a pickup they blocked from leaving the parking lot was Chambers. After failing field sobriety tests, Chambers was taken to the hospital where he resisted having a court-ordered blood draw and was swearing loud enough for other patients to hear. Chambers is out of jail after posting bonds totaling $13,355 dollars.
College Station police made a drunk driving arrest during the noon hour on Tuesday at a local oil change business. According to the arrest report, 55 year old Phillip Stanley of Odessa told officers he had drank six beers in the hour before the oil change. An employee said as he directed the truck into the service bay, the driver accelerated instead of braked. The employee called police after spotting beer cans inside the truck. Stanley is out of jail after posting a three thousand dollar bond.
A Bryan man has been arrested for the fourth time this year and the second in the last six months for driving with an invalid license with a prior conviction. 28 year old Carroll Dicky II was stopped by Texas A&M police during the midnight hour on Wednesday without working license plate lights. According to the arrest report, Dicky had five active suspensions. He is out of jail after posting a $2,000 bond.
Bryan police receiving a narcotics complaint near Jane Long Middle School Wednesday afternoon led to the arrests of two brothers on multiple charges. According to the arrest report, 24 year old Jose and 28 year old Ramon Sierra-Lara had a sock and 38 baggies of cocaine with a combined weight of 63.7 grams. The estimated street value is more than $6,000 dollars. The sock also contained “a few hundred smaller Ziploc style bags.” Jose told officers that they were getting ready for a New Year’s Eve party where he was planning to sell the cocaine. The brothers were in jail Thursday on bonds of $12,000 each. According to online jail records, Ramon was also being held for U.S. immigration officials. The home where the arrests took place is located on Crystal Brook Drive.
A Texas A&M police officer stopping a vehicle Wednesday night because taillights were not working resulted in an arrest on multiple charges of drug possession with the intent to sell. According to the arrest report, 29 year old Gavin Norton of College Station had synthetic marijuana, butane hash oil, marijuana, and $670 dollars in $20 dollar bills and larger. And when Norton was being booked in the Brazos County jail, a detention officer found more marijuana, butane hash oil, and 50 Alprazolam pills inside Norton’s jacket pocket. Norton was in jail Thursday on bonds totaling $35,000 dollars.
A Hempstead man remains held in the Brazos County jail on charges of stealing three assault rifles from his former employer. 21 year old Eric Salazar is accused of going into the vault of the south College Station ballistics business on December 14 and December 28. According to the arrest report, Salazar was caught Wednesday in an undercover operation by the sheriff’s office where Salazar was going to sell all three rifles to a co-worker at a local storage facility.
A College Station man arrested in October for harboring a runaway is back in jail on charges of possessing child pornography. According to the arrest report from College Station police, 23 year old Robert Lawson had two illegal photos on his cell phone involving children under the age of 18. The photos were found while investigators were searching for evidence related to the runaway case. Larson was in jail Thursday on bonds totaling $50,000 dollars.
