Arrests Following Pursuits And Driving Without Licenses With Prior Convictions

Local law enforcement was involved in two pursuits on Tuesday.

One began after a College Station officer who clocked a car going 107 miles per hour on Wellborn Road witnessed the car crash at Deacon and General Parkway. According to the arrest report, the driver got out of the car, put his hands behind his back, and told the officer he did not stop “because he was scared.” 20 year old Alec Williams of Newton Texas, who also told the officer he had drank 10 to 15 beers, was arrested for evading arrest and DWI.

A Bryan police officer who saw a car run a stop sign led to the fourth arrest of a Bryan man in seven months. According to the arrest report, the driver had ample room to stop but did not. 40 year old Shawn Ridgway, whose driving record includes 11 active suspensions, was arrested for fleeing, driving without a license with three prior convictions, and possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.

A Bryan man was arrested on multiple charges after crashing a motorcycle that was reported stolen from College Station. Witnesses told police Tuesday at 5:30 in the morning in the area of Highway 21 and the freeway, it appeared the front brakes on the motorcycle locked, causing the bike to flip forward and the driver flipping several times. The arrest report does not indicate if the driver was wearing a helmet. But the witnesses said the driver got up and ran to a motel. That’s where police found 28 year old Colton Stafford, where he was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of the crash that caused major damage to the motorcycle, and a warrant for driving without a license.

Last Thursday, a Bryan police officer stopped a car for making a wide right turn. That led to the arrest of the driver, 45 year old Lillie Flores of Bryan, for driving without a license with two prior convictions. According to her arrest report, her driving record includes 19 active suspensions.

Last Sunday, a Bryan police officer stopping a vehicle linked to the investigation of an assault. That led to the arrest of the driver, 29 year old Christopher Cyrus of Bryan, for driving without a license with one prior conviction. According to the arrest report, Cyrus has 14 active suspensions on his license.
