Bryan police responding to a disturbance over a baby shower resulted in the arrest of a Houston woman on a charge of swinging a tire iron towards the head of the mother to be and strangling her. According to the arrest report, 58 year old Gwendolyn Diggles told officers she wanted to buy food stamps from the victim while they were at the store. When the victim refused, Diggles said she left the victim…who is her goddaughter…at the store. Both women later returned to the victim’s home, where Diggles told police she took some meat, went outside, and struck it with her tire iron…which she says she keeps for protection. There is no mention in the arrest report of the victim…who is six months pregnant with twins…requiring medical attention.
A College Station woman is accused of taking more than $1,800 dollars of merchandise from the Bryan Target store. According to the arrest report, 20 year old Aalyiah Lewis told officers she “just did something stupid” by trying to walk out without paying for 135 back to school items. Target’s report to police indicated Lewis walked out of the store without her cart, moved her vehicle into a different parking spot, then re-entered the store. When she couldn’t find the cart she left behind, the Target employee reported Lewis filled another cart, walked out of the store a second time without the cart, then returned a third time. When Lewis got near the front doors with the merchandise, she was stopped by store employees and escorted to the loss prevention office to wait for police.
A College Station man whose one year jail sentence for vehicle burglary ended June 19th is back in jail accused of breaking into a car and two pickup trucks in a west Bryan neighborhood. According to the arrest report, 21 year old Jeremy Jonterrian Green was caught following a citizen’s call just after 3:30 Tuesday morning. The car was parked on LaBrisa and the trucks were parked on Cobblestone. The arrest report made no reference to forced entry being made into any of the vehicles.
