A hit and run crash in Bryan Saturday (May 25) during the midnight hour at Texas and Martin Luther King Jr. resulted in five juveniles being taken by EMS to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Bryan police report the 15 and 16 year olds were all riding in a S-U-V that was struck by a pickup truck. The BPD arrest report says the truck was found abandoned about ten blocks away near the Mounce library with a missing front driver side tire and wheel and the air bags deployed. A citizen who reported seeing the driver of the pickup get into another vehicle then followed the vehicle. Officers arrested 31 year old Roberto Rico of Bryan for leaving the scene of an injury crash. He is out of jail after posting bonds totaling $50,000 dollars.

A Bryan man awaiting sentencing in federal court after he was arrested in December 2021 south of College Station for possessing almost ten pounds of ecstasy, he returns to the Brazos County jail on a new drug charge. A Bryan police report says when BPD officers arrested 36 year old Bradley Lawson May 22nd on the federal warrant, they discovered in Lawson’s car a baggie containing 445 pills that tested positive for ecstasy. Lawson is quoted in the arrest report as saying that he forgot he had the pills in his car.

An inmate at the Robertson County jail is also being held for the Brazos County sheriff’s office on felony theft charges from a Wixon Valley business in March. Arrest reports from Brazos County investigators say 34 year old Demestrie Ross of Calvert participated in the theft of a two-ton pickup truck, a flatbed trailer, a gooseneck trailer, and two guns. Robertson County jail records show Ross was held as of May 29th in lieu of bonds totaling $150,000 dollars for felony theft of property and violating probation from stealing livestock and family violence assault.
