Arrests On Charges Of Identity Theft, Driving Stolen Vehicles, Checking In Illegal Drugs At The Airport, & Filing A False Police Report

For the second time in less than three months, a Bryan man is arrested by College Station police on charges of identity theft. A reference to the February 28th arrest of 36 year old Paul Ybanez was part of last weekend’s arrest report. Ybanez is accused of living in an apartment that was supposed to be vacant. The CSPD officer found four debit cards, a credit card, a Medicaid I-D card, and a 1099 tax form…all belonging to different people. Ybanez, who was also arrested for criminal trespassing and possession of a controlled substance, is in jail in lieu of bonds totaling $15,000 dollars.

College Station police arrest 17 year olds in separate cases of driving stolen vehicles. Tuesday just after 2 a.m., officers responding to a report of suspicious activity along Southwest Parkway between Dartmouth and Central Park Lane led to finding three teenagers. One of two vehicles the teens drove was reported stolen from Navasota. Two who were arrested are 16. The third was identified as 17 year old Keshawn Brown of Navasota, who remains in jail in lieu of bonds totaling $8,000 dollars.

Last Sunday, a 17 year old from College Station was booked in jail on charges of residential burglary that day and driving a pickup truck reported stolen from a home in Castlegate last month. According to the CSPD arrest report, Aaron Payton and a second 17 year old man admitted to driving the truck, which wound up in a crash in Burleson County. The second 17 year old also said he and Payton were burglarizing vehicles in Castlegate when they found the pickup with the keys in the vehicle. No arrests have been made on the vehicle burglary charge. Payton remains in jail in lieu of bonds totaling $16,000 dollars.

A piece of luggage being screened Monday afternoon at Easterwood Airport resulted in the arrest of a College Station man on drug charges. A TSA supervisor contacted Texas A&M police after finding what is believed to be THC oil, cannabis-infused granola clusters, and psychedelic mushrooms. 26 year old Imad Adel-Abdelraouf is out of jail after posting bonds totaling $18,000 dollars.

A College Station woman has been arrested on a charge of filing a false police report. According to the arrest report from College Station police, 27 year old Melissa Matthews admitted that she crashed a rental car last month, after she told officers the car was stolen from a parking lot. She said a friend told her to just park the car on the next street and leave it. A resident in the neighborhood where the crash occurred told officers they were awakened by the crash and she saw the two women walk away from the car. Matthews is out of jail after posting a $2,000 dollar bond.
