For the second time, a Brazos County jail inmate is accused of assaulting a detention officer. The sheriff’s office arrest report says on September 17th, a jail sergeant received medical treatment after being punched in the face twice with a closed fist. Court records show the inmate, 27 year old Colton Thurman of Bryan, was sentenced to two and a half years for assaulting two detention officers in August of 2020. Thurman has been in jail since May 5th following an arrest by Bryan police for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. And jail and court records show Thurman is awaiting a transfer to a state prison to serve a five year sentence for family violence assault with prior convictions that happened in June 2024.
The 28th time a Millican man is booked in the Brazos County jail since November of 1994, it is for placing a five foot long log and a 15 foot long PVC tube on the street in front of his home. A Brazos County sheriff’s deputy writes in his arrest report that 65 year old Todd Wayne Miller had been warned in prior calls for the same reason. And Miller told the deputy he would do it again in order to slow down traffic. Miller is out of jail after posting a $2,000 dollar bond following his arrest on September 17th for obstructing the street.
