Armed Robbery At Texas A&M Student Recreation Center

From Texas A&M police:

On May 27, 2016, at approximately 12:53 p.m., the University Police were contacted regarding a male subject armed with a knife, who was attempting to take a cell phone from an individual on the third floor of the Student Recreation Center.

Multiple officers responded to the scene and located the suspect on the third floor. He was observed displaying a knife and discharging a fire extinguisher.

Upon making contact, the suspect complied with the officer’s commands and was taken into custody.

An officer on scene made contact with a victim, who told them the individual had approached him on the third floor, displayed a knife, and ordered him to place his cell phone on the ground.

The victim complied and the suspect then took possession of the victim’s cell phone.

The victim did not sustain any injuries during this incident.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital for a health evaluation.

The incident is still under investigation and no additional information will be released at this time.
