News release courtesy of the Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley:
On Friday January 18th, the Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley held its 3rd Annual National Missing Children’s Day Poster Contest.
This year marked the largest participation in our regional contest and included 36 entries from 5th Graders at Crockett Elementary School and Bowen Elementary School in Bryan.
After much consideration and difficult judging, the judges selected a 1st place entry submitted by Bowen Elementary School student Keziah Smith.
Keziah’s poster will proceed to the statewide contest judging in Houston in April. The statewide winner will represent Texas at the national competition, with the winner to be announced on May 25th, National Missing Children’s Day, in Washington D.C.
Serving as judges were Chief Jeff Capps of the College Station Police Department, Chief Eric Buske of the Bryan Police Department, and Brazos County Sheriff Chris Kirk.
The judges and all present were very impressed with all of the entries submitted by our local children and felt pride in their efforts. They are all to be commended for excellent work!
