LEXINGTON – Texas A&M volleyball’s Logan Lednicky and Ifenna Cos-Okpalla earned American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America Honors, as Lednicky was named to the second team while Cos-Okpalla received Honorable-Mention status, the organization announced Wednesday morning.
Following the conclusion of the Aggies standout 2024 campaign, A&M landed a pair of athletes on the AVCA All-American list for the first time in five years. Lednicky was named to the second team and Cos-Okpalla secured Honorable Mention distinction. The duo spearheaded the program’s eighth trip to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16, and first in five seasons.
Lednicky capped off her junior campaign with the second-highest kills per set total (4.47) and third-highest kill total (492) in a single season in A&M history during the rally-scoring era. The Sugar Land, Texas, native recorded 20+ kills in eight matches this season, including three straight in the Maroon & White’s three NCAA Tournament matches, a feat only two athletes in the tournament accomplished. Lednicky also stood out defensively, blocking a single season career high 105 swings on the year. The opposite hitters kills and blocks equated to historic point scoring throughout the season, as she logged 557.0 total points and 5.06 per frame, which both rank third all-time during the rally-scoring era.
Cos-Okpalla continued to dominate at the net during the 2024 season, while also adding staggering offensive production to her game to be a difference maker for the Aggies. The middle blocker stuffed 161 swings on the year, averaging 1.46 a set which rank second and third, respectively, in the Maroon & White’s history books. On the offensive side of the net, the Flower Mound, Texas, native crushed 228 kills which is more than her previous two seasons combined. Cos-Okpalla’s efficiency also jumped off the charts, as she hit at .374 percent across the year which ranks seventh on A&M’s all-time list.
