UPDATE: Vehicle Found Belonging to A&M Student Reported Missing

UPDATE:

The vehicle of the missing Texas A&M University student was located in Marlin, Texas. A body was discovered in a heavily wooded area adjacent to where the vehicle was found. Investigators are working to confirm if the body is that of Anthony Joseph Carey. The victim’s body has been sent to the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences Medical Examiners Office in Dallas, Texas for an autopsy.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Texas A&M University Police Department is currently seeking assistance in locating a missing student.

Anthony Joseph Carey. Carey is described as a white male, 22 years of age, 5’7”, 125 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen leaving his residence in Houston, Texas on August 23, 2012 at noon en route to College Station.

He was wearing a non-descriptive t-shirt, athletic shorts and flip-flop sandals.

Carey was driving a tan 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer, bearing Texas license plate BX4X219.

Additional information has been obtained that indicates Carey may have recently been in the Marlin, Texas area.

Anyone with information regarding the location of Mr. Carey is asked to contact the University Police immediately at 979-845-2345.
