Elston Turner scored 11 of his 17 points in the second half as Texas A&M pulled away from Houston Baptist for a 67-59 victory Thursday night.
Texas A&M (10-3) led by only three points with 3:45 remaining, but the Aggies scored 13 of the last 19 points.
Houston Baptist (4-10) had a 33-23 edge in rebounds, but the Huskies committed 23 turnovers that led to 24 points for the Aggies.
Senior forward Ray Turner made 7 of 11 shots and scored 14 points for Texas A&M, while Fabyon Harris added 12.
Caleb Crayton led Houston Baptist with 13 points.
The Aggies did not trail in the second half, but HBU pulled within 49-47 on a 3-pointer by Marcel Smith with 6:18 remaining. Turner answered with a 3-pointer and made two free throws as Texas A&M pulled away.
