A Texas A&M University student who campaigned during the spring semester to become the school’s first female yell leader is accused of stealing two bicycles owned by the University Police Department.

UPD Sgt. Alan Baron says 20 year old Samantha Ketcham of Windsor, Virginia was arrested May 13th after admitting placing the bicycles in her dorm room at Mosher Hall. The bikes had been parked outside Underwood Hall. Baron says neither bike was locked, something that was intentionally done.

Ketcham was taken to the Brazos County Jail where she was freed after posting bonds totaling $6,000.

Ketcham has not responded to requests for comment made via text message and to her Facebook account.
