Almost seven tons of trash was removed from a Bryan home on Wednesday.

And one of the residents was arrested for interfering with public duties.

The list from the Bryan police arrest report of what was described as a small sampling of what was removed from outside the home on Winter Street…which is north of SFA school, includes: “multiple sizes of rotted wood, particle board, fencing, pallets, broken tables, tires, traffic cones, traffic signs, soaked cardboard, old water soaked newspapers, multiple stacks of styrofoam cups over six feet high. multiple stacks of styrofoam fast food containers, broken trash cans, broken pieces of metal and large panels off a garage door, multiple empty cans of cat food, empty bottles, empty plastic and glass containers, old lighting, old political signs, and a large amount of general trash.”

The removal followed numerous complaints over the last year and five notifications in the last seven months.

That led to the mobilization of multiple city trucks and and employees from police, code enforcement, water services, and sanitation services to the home.

One of the residents, 66 year old William West, is out of jail after posting a $2,000 dollar bond following his arrest for trying to keep city employees from removing debris.
