Neither Bryan nor College Station voters were in the mood for changes in their respective special elections Tuesday.
Three separate items, one in College Station and two in Bryan, all failed by large margins.
Bryan voters rejected 62 percent to 38 percent a proposition to remove the parkland distinction from the Bryan Municipal Golf Course. The proposition’s failure means the city will be unable to sell the land for future development.
Voters in Bryan also turned down a non-binding resolution to purchase Briarcrest Country Club, 65 percent to 35 percent. Since the resolution is non-binding, however, the city is not obligated to discontinue its interest in the property.

College Station’s ballot issue was not a proposition, but a proposed charter amendment. City council wanted voters to decide if city elections should be kept in May of odd-numbered years, even though doing so would lengthen council terms to four years and limit members to two consecutive terms.
Voters rejected the proposal 60 percent to 40 percent.
